Guide for Create a New Efficiency Bathroom within the Budget
There are a few things that you will need to remember when it comes to determining the efficiency of a bathroom’s decor design. As you know, if you can get your fixtures and accessories to serve a decorative function, you will be eliminating the need for excessive decorating.
Using matching faucets and hardware to create a specific style in your bathroom is a great way to decorate effectively. For example, if all the hardware in your bathroom is coated in an oil-rubbed bronze finish, this on its own can work wonders as an important aspect of your bathroom’s decor.
Most hardware for bathrooms (faucets, showerheads, towel rails, robe hooks, and so on) also comes in sets. This means that all of your hardware will match in appearance. For example, you may at the moment have traditional style faucets in your bathroom that feature well-rounded edges. In this case it wouldn’t make sense to use towel rails or robe hooks that feature a square, almost contemporary design in their mounting bases.
Using hardware that matches in style is also an important aspect to consider when it comes to creating continuity of decor.
When it comes to the simpler accessories like your toothbrush holder, soap dish, soap dispenser, a toiletry basket and perhaps even a bathroom jug and tumbler set, there are numerous sets like these on the market.
The great thing about them is that some are really pretty or modern (depending on your preferences you will choose the appropriate set) and they can act as simplistic focal points in your bathroom; once again proving that your accessories can be used as decorations that serve a purpose.
Obviously, you will want to match the style of your set to the style of the decor in your bathroom. For example, an antique style set may look out of place in a bathroom that features contemporary style hardware. Likewise, a plastic uni-color accessories set wouldn’t suit a bathroom with a Victorian air of sophistication.
Shower Curtains and Blinds
If you are going to be making use of a shower curtain, a good way to promote your bathroom’s design theme would be to ensure that your bathroom blinds or curtains match up with your shower curtain.
For example, in a child’s bathroom (a boy, let’s say) you may want to make use of plastic blinds that feature a series of sailboats as their pattern. If your shower curtain also features a sailboat; one large boat or a series of small ones, can you see how this would be effective?
Towels and Face Cloths
Your towels and face cloths (even your bathrobe if you like) should always compliment the color scheme you use in your bathroom.
For example, if you have chosen to paint your walls in a pastel shade of blue, there will be two routes you can take as far as the color of your towels go.
You could choose to use opposite colors; for example, sandy yellow colored towels. The use of opposite colors as a design technique has proven to work well; and as they say, ‘opposites attract’. If you were to take this route, you would want to feature a few other accessories in a sandy yellow color too, perhaps a sandy yellow colored vase with blue flowers, or a sandy yellow statuette.
The second route you could take would be to simply use different shades of blue. For example, if your walls are pastel blue; bold turquoise blue towels hanging on your towel rail would create a contrast, and beautifully so. Using variations of the same color is another design technique often used by interior decorators, and is known as a monochromatic color scheme.
